B.Des or B.Ftech
hi, I’ve cleared Stage 1 of NIFT and just gave my Situation Test, so I'm currently in that anxious phase of waiting for the results! As I look ahead, I’m feeling really conflicted about choosing between two career paths and could use some honest advice from current NIFTians or alumni.
I come from a PCM + CS stream, and i am also good in drawing, paintings, craft, tbh i dont know if i am good in design bcz i dont know what we have to do yet... but my biggest worry right now is the future of these fields. I really want to understand: What do the next 5–6 years look like? Both while studying at NIFT and during the initial years in the industry? What do day-to-day jobs actually entail? How are the placements looking realistically? which industry is more brutal and toxic? In which field there has more success rate?
To be completely honest, I’m carrying a lot of anxiety about this. My parents are investing a lot into my education, and I absolutely do not want their hard-earned money to go to waste. While I am 100% ready to give this my all and work my hardest, I am terrified of the "what ifs"—what if the field isn't the right fit for me, or what if I fall behind my peers and it hits my career prospects and placement offers?
I’ve been scrolling through Reddit posts about B.Des and B.FTech, and to be frank, the sea of negative reviews has left me super confused about whether this is the right step for me.
If any current NIFT students or graduates could share their real, unfiltered experiences and insights, it would mean the world to me. Thank you so much in advance!
