I was in Japan about a month ago and forgot to pick these up. I got a few higher end watches when I was there, but somehow these slipped my mind. I wanted the classic A159 and a W738H (vibration alarm). I could have bought them online, but since my friend was there, I just asked him to pick them up for me.

The 159's were about $10 each and the 738 was about $40. Saved a bit of cash and got the classic made in Japan 159 I've always wanted. The next time I go back (next year), I'm going to pick up a few more G-Lides, etc. I highly recommend a trip to Japan if you want to pick up some JDM only models and/or want to save some cash!

So, an update on my watch search in Japan. I am trying to squeeze in as much time as family allows.

I thought I had made up my mind to get the Red Japan only G-Lide GWX 5688C. I got it out of the case today ( @ Bic Camera) and I don't like the negative display in real life. I wear polarized sunglasses (prescription) all the time, and I looked at the display with them on and it was just difficult. More difficult than a watch should be to see the time and features. I shed a tear, handed it back, and made my way around the Casio counter to see what else I could snatch up.

I landed on the non solar version of the watch. It's a G-Lide GLX 56007 JF. It's Japan only version as well, and it's white which happens to be my favorite Casio watch color. Since this was a bit cheaper, I snatched up a F-94WA-9JH along with it. It's not available through retailers in the US...at least not yet. BTW... The search for the limited edition Pacman F-91 is officially over. I got the runaround from several Yodobashi stores and don't have the time to hunt it down ☹️

So, how much did I spend? I know you are waiting for it!

F-94 = $ 8.14

Total = $ 67.93

I have enough cap room now to also get the matching black G-Lide or take a chance on a 2016 Blue Marble colored G-Lide GAX-100MA I found at a second hand store for $68. The catch is that the battery is dead so I'll have to take it to get it replaced at Bic or Yodobashi for about $10 and hope there are no issues with it.

Any thoughts on the GAX -100MA? Is it worth taking the time and a chance on it? That blue marble is nice! Photos attached...

I'm currently in Japan and stopped in to Bic today. Saw so many watches I wanted to buy. As tempting as it is, I don't really want to cash out my retirement account just yet. So, which one should I buy?

I own multiple Casio watches but didn't understand the draw of the F-91. I just received it, set it and slapped it on my wrist. It's so small, light, and simple...yet has all the basic functions needed in a daily driver watch. I wanted the white to start, but I see all other colors in my future.

So, I ran across this model (white lettering not green) in my local Walmart yesterday. It is on clearance for $23. I find different models at this store on clearance from time to time but usually for $13.

I didn't pull the trigger at $23 but am on the fence. I'm going to leave my decision up to everyone here. Should I buy it for $23? Please post a yes or no in the reply and then any comments or feedback about the model after your vote. Thanks!
