I am new to leathercraft, but I do want to make a leather bag for my first big project. I don't have a sewing machine. Should I invest in one for this project, or should I stick with hand stitching?

I'm comfortable with a slow process, so I'm not concerned about hand stitching taking a long time. I'm only worried about stuff that a machine can do that manual work can't.

What do you guys recommend? Also, what are some things I should keep in mind when making a leather bag?
