Microsoft Outlook on MacBook

Hi Everybody.

I recently changed from a Windows PC to a MacBook. I have continued to use Windows Office on my Mac, but find it to be total rubbish (especially Outlook and Excel).

I have continual problems with Outlook with the Search function as it keeps failing to find old emails which I have spread across 2 different email addresses (Hotmail & an IMAP address).

I have tried both the default version and Legacy version and even went so far as to consulting good 'ol ChatGPT which just made matters worse when I followed its advice. This has now affected the Search function in Finder as well.

I now log in to my email through my Service Providers portal, find the email and then go back to Outlook and scroll back to the relevant date and there it is (lo and behold !!!)

I am so sick of it !!!!!!!

What advice do you guys have for me ?

I've considered changing to Mail on my MacBook, but have absolutely no idea what that is like ? Seen as how I have 2 different email addresses (1 x work, 1 x Personal), is there a better option out there ?

Thanks in advance.

Excel recently decided to no longer allow me to use the SUM function from the Top ribbon. When I want to use it, I now need to go and type in "=SUM(cellrange)" every time. I've tried shutting down my Mac, restarting and then reopening Excel - doesn't work, as well as other settings under Preferences and still not coming right.
