I mean actually problematic. Think problematic on the level of toxic yaoi leads. Not “she was rude one time”. Not “she has good intentions but messes up sometimes”, nor the watered down stuff. Please debate her actions, theorize what could have motivated her to do this (whether she has actual tragic reasons, or she’s just crazy/selfish, or both).

You can hate her for her actions, but for the love of god— approach it in terms of story, not “omgf!!!> this doesnt align with my good Christian values!!!!”. Its the author trying to tell an interesting story, not a test of the readers morals. Just walk away if you don’t like it. And please, dont hate on readers who do love her character and want more of it.

What pisses me off even more is that male character leads get wayyy less hate for the same things. They’re problematic, and whether you love him or hate him he’s treated as a character with unique motivations—to be short, we can analyse and reflect on the the story with INTELLIGENCE. This is all i want!!

Anyways, the genderswapped version of “he genuinely loves the main lead, but his obsession and trauma makes it so that he ends up hurting her” is my bread and butter. Recommendations, anyone?
