DSL is the first linux i've personally gotten to use
I have friends and people i've met who use some form of linux as their main OS. I thought about it myself (still thinking so) but i ended up getting a ASUS ROG Ally for gaming since i play more low spec indie games than what would be required for a PC (I could've waited to get a steam deck but never mind).
Anyhow last night i was surfing the web bored, and stumbled upon a site that allows you to try different OS in browser. To no surprise, DSL, and i loved it.
It reminds me aesthetically of a dumb phone or feature phone. Something that can run quite easily with little fuss, comes preloaded with different features or apps, and can take care of most basic needs.
It reminds me of when i was younger (i'm 30 now) and using Windows 9x at my grandmas house on dial up. We didn't know how to download new software so we just went to sites we knew had cool games and played them there. GNU has so much freeware too.
The only thing missing is tracker software to make music...i think some are linux compliant though.
I am not sure how i'd make it work on my Rog Ally, but i'd love to try another super lightweight, no frills dsitro (prob through USB). IT shouldn't be hard as Rog Ally uses Windows 11.
Just thought i'd share my thoughts, playing around, at least in browser is quite interesting.
