At some point, i've gotta switch away from using 2X60m ropes because idk why, but my half rope sheathing wears out so damn quick, so i'm exploring options before my current pair runs through in a year or so.

I think the traditional mindset is to get a 5mm accessory cord as a pull cord for rapping. (in case my terminology is wrong, the rope that you use to pull the 9.5mm rope) however, i've heard that I can use thinner dyneema ropes instead, because they're even stronger than 5mm accessory cord. (3mm dyneema breaks at 12kN, but 5mm nylon cord breaks at 4kN)

However, I feel like there's gotta be some problem i can't see, because why doesn't everyone do that? maybe dyneema is brittle like glass and bursts into thousand pieces if it gets cut on an edge? maybe it gets stuck on crevices too easily? Maybe not having a sheathing is just that bad of an idea when your rap is not a clean line of sight?

thanks!
