Novation Launch Control XL 3 - endless Encoders and no relative CC

hey,

the endless encoders are absolutley (hehe) useless in custom mode without the ability to send relative cc's. novation support, please, finally look into this. people have been asking for this for months...

edit: or can anyone suggest me a nice midi controller for logic pro with relative encoders and maybe even faders?

Launch Control XL 3 - Encoder Speed: fast

Hey,

I think about buying one for performing prepared jam templates in Logic. There are some user opinions about the encoder speed being not fast enough, but i heard an update added a setting specifically for the custom modes.

so i wanna be sure: is it now possible to do really quick spins with the encoder after the fw update or is it still pretty slow?

thx

edit: researching more shows me the fader speed seems to be too slow for fast changes too. novation acknowledged the issue, said they'll look into it 10 months ago and updated 3 months ago that there are no news. thats low.....

New to hardware, feeling overwhelmed - tips for ambient jams and music making?

Hey,

for an ambient music production project I have the following setup:

- Behringer 1002SFX mixer
- Boss DD-8 delay pedal
- Ditto looper pedal
- Tascam DR-07X recorder
- MacBook Air M1
- various audio cables

I know a little bit about Logic, but am still new to this hardware stuff. The goal is to move away from the computer and focus on live jams and sound design sessions, finding happy accidents to collect material for later editing and arranging in the DAW maybe.

Since Im feeling a bit overwhelmed, could you help me get started? There arent really Youtube videos covering this specific gear, so Im struggling to figure out what I can do with it and how. Professional, super-clean quality isnt the priority here, I prefer things sounding rough, slightly out of tune, off-grid... not just endless drones, but more melodic stuff and variation in sound, trying to get most out of less, relaxing and having fun with sound is the main focus.

Is this gear enough to get started with making some ambient/IDM music? Any recommendations for Youtube channels or workflows that use similar setups would be very helpful. Feedback looping as sound design technique seems really interesting, but I have no clue how to set this up - is this possible with this setup?

I am thankful for any tips...

Best regards,
kk
