Autunite Radioactive Mineral net 770g...value?
Title: Autunite (radioactive mineral), 770 g net, what’s it worth?
Body:
I have a sealed glass jar of what I believe is autunite, a natural uranium mineral. The mineral weighs 770 g net, not including the jar. It glows bright yellow-green under UV light, and photos taken under UV are included. Most of it is chunky pieces, but some has broken down into dust or sand-like material over time.
I’m not certain of the origin. It was found buried with a cache of other minerals from the Pacific Northwest, so Oregon or Washington is my best guess, but that is unverified.
I’m trying to find out what it’s worth if it’s confirmed as autunite. If you collect radioactive minerals, deal in them, or know the market, I’d appreciate your input or an offer. I’m also happy to have someone confirm the ID in person, and I can send more photos on request.
The jar will stay sealed until it’s handed over, since the loose dust shouldn’t be breathed in. I won’t ship it. Local pickup, or delivery can be negotiated.
Reply with your offer or estimate, or any advise that might help. Thank you.
