How unethical is it to ask another journalist out?

(I apologize if this isn’t the right flair for this question.) I’m going to try to keep it vague in case they’re in this subreddit, but my time in this newsroom is coming to an end and there’s someone that works there full-time that I’m really interested in asking out. I’ve only worked with them a handful of times and they were not in any official capacity my superior, but they do have seniority over me. I am no longer going to be working there soon and honestly don’t anticipate that I’m going to be working there in the future, so it brings me to my question: How unethical is it to ask another journalist out? While I am extremely interested in this person, I am also conscious of how it looks, considering I am early in my journalism career, in my 20s, female, and they are not. Advice, anecdotes, etc. are always appreciated. Thanks! <3

I "didn't express enough interest" to be hired

(I'm sorry this is more of a rant) I have been interning in a newsroom since June, have consistently gotten good feedback, and was told and emailed by my manager multiple times that they were hiring me. Fast forward to today, I was pulled aside and informed by a higher up that I was not being considered anymore because I "didn't express enough interest" in the company to be hired. I don't really know what to say at this point. I have given my all. I work as much as possible, I go to every meeting, workshop, etc. that is offered, I set up meetings with other people that work there to learn from them, and really felt like I fit in. I know that I'm stupid for thinking that I would get hired off of an internship, but I honestly really like being there and am just extremely sad that I'm not going to work there. Has anyone else been in a similar situation? What advice do you have? I would honestly appreciate anything, even if harsh.
