I have been dealing with adhd since i was a kid but whenever i try to tell people what im dealing with they say “well everyone does that” and being born in jordan of all places where parents would just take me to a sheikh to read quran on me didn’t help

But now it doesn’t bother me much i would have said the same thing before i got diagnosed.

But now i can tell them this:

Have you ever had a business that is making you thousands of dollars just by talking to customers which is an insane opportunity in this country but you just watch the clock tick forward and not do this simple task even tho you know you need to until you feel like it’s too late to respond and miss out on opportunities every day

Have you been so hungry that you feel dizzy and going without eating for the whole day because you can’t bring yourself to make a simple meal

Have you planned to go out with your friends and you really wanted to go but you kept procrastinating dressing up until it was too late to go and have never arrived early to any occasion

Has it been years for you since you slept without being so sleepy from staying up that you doze off with your phone in your hand?

I went to a psychiatrist here in amman because i have trouble with focus and short term memory and procrastinating, then he made me take a test where he’d ask me yes or no questions without even explaining these stupid questions and told me there’s nothing wrong with me im just depressed and i should take meds eve tho i never dealt with depression and mind you he never asked me about anything I personally deal with or how i feel or go in depth in my own psychology he just decided to give me meds without knowing anything and even when he gives me space to talk it feels like he’s just waiting for his turn to talk and then when i questioned his diagnosis he said normally if anyone did that he’d kick them out of his office and I don’t know anything and wouldnt even tell me the details of the medication he prescribed after i asked him he just said i should just listen to him, honestly man wtf
