Hi I’m transfer student in CS. Standing Junior. I will be attending Whitman College this Fall as junior, and I’m very anxious right now. I heard and know that Whitman College is really good school. But I heard that CS department is not prestigious and it will be difficult to land a job after graduation. Even though I got a good financial aid package the cost is still high. My family is pushing me to finish my bachelor’s, but I know they will spend a lot of money(I’m international student and for my family it’s like selling a house to provide me with education) but I’m very stressed about thoughts that I won’t be able to land a job in US market nowadays (It’s very competitive). I do understand that landing a job or getting internship depends more on a person rather the college he is attending and writing this post more like to get off this thoughts.

I just want to know more before I go to Whitman, CS majors how is it to study in Whitman College?

Whitman graduates, do you think you could’ve achieve more with different university on your resume?

Also, why I didn’t choose other uni? Because the Whitman is only I can afford right now , and I like this school a lot.

Please, I need any advice on this kind of a topic.

Hey , I’m committing to Whitman this fall , curious if there is any martial arts clubs in Whitman or any in Walla Walla?

Hi , I recently got into Whitman college as international transfer student with good financial aid package. I'm computer science major - thinking to do a computer and electrical engineering.

I heard Whitman College has a weak CS department and no engineering department at all. But I liked the College , the location , small classrooms. But CS is not prestigious there(

In the other hand I liked OSU for it's having a good engineering program and a big research history. Also companies are recruiting from there.

What would you choose :

Whitman 15,000$ per year or Oregon State University 30,000$ per year.

I'm a transfer student from Bellevue Community College , recently I applied for transfer to Whitman College - asked for 10k tuition per year , 3.83 GPA , STEM. So as a result got waitlisted. But recently I updated my paying ability to 30k per year , and I got a call from Director of Admission Recruitment - he said "I want to confirm that you updated your tuition payment ability" after a small conversation he said "I will give you an update on your decision next week".

Is it a positive sign???? I'm confused....
