Glad to be alive
Semi-long post but bear with me 🙏🏽
As I write this, I’m partially in shock and partially glad to be alive.
Me and my crew were headed to Kisumu and around the Kinungi area just before where Jirongo died, some arrogant, good for nothing prick on a motorcycle decided to be the Grim Reaper’s agent. He appeared to be ferrying 2 sacks of kales with another guy resting comfortably on top. This waste of flesh just joined the highway without looking properly and we happened to be barreling down that slope though at a reasonable speed. In a bid to avoid him the driver swerved left which the agent decided to also join him. This resulted in the side mirror on the driver’s side getting clipped off. Their greens and motorcycle rubbed off on this side as well. We stepped off the tarmac slightly and the vehicle we were in did a complete 180 degree turn and we were facing the direction we’d come from. In that instance, we lost control and the vehicle rolled off to the side of the road. It rolled once and thankfully it ended up righting itself upright again.
Luckily for us, we suffered minimal injuries but the vehicle got damages on the roof, windscreen and the rear screen. As usual, the culprit disappeared into thin air since he knew he was definitely on the wrong and they didn’t fall off on account of our able driver avoiding a collision at all costs
My life didn’t flash before my eyes which is how I knew when we were rolling that We would be okay. But all this happened in a matter of 10 seconds which ultimately goes to show how fickle life truly can be.
I am just glad and I thank God that all of us made it out safely. There were 4 of us. Destination was supposed to be Kisumu for work but alas, no tasting fish for us today and no getting paid. 💔
I’ll leave this at that and address these motorcycle guys in a later post. However, for those with friends and brethren in the trade, let them know that the highway does not forgive mistakes. Their hubris affects us all in the long run.
WANTAM!!!
