Local music scene for a rocker?

Hi all, I'm just doing my Leaving Cert this year and hoping to start in Ulster University DLD in August. I'm big into music, I play drums in a rock band at the moment but I play guitar and bass as well. I was wondering what the local music scene is like and if there's any place for rock n roll? Any good spots to get a gig or open mic nights maybe?

EDIT: Problem Solved. Tone pot was making contact with the grounding paint inside

As mentioned in a previous post, my bridge tone knob doesn't do anything, it's stuck at 0% tone. If I cut the blue wire where I have circled in green, will the entire circuit still continue to work, just without the tone knob? And if so, will my tone forever be at 100% or 0%?
