Clueless in New Jersey
My husband and I are planning a move in the near future. He will be working/traveling between jobs sites in Secaucus and Hoboken. I’m feeling pretty overwhelmed on even where to start looking. We would like a modest yard with a fence and a detached,single family home (500-700k). As people who did not grow up remotely in large cities I think the suburbs are the plan. We would like to stay within 30-45 minutes for his commute.
Any ideas on WHERE to start looking as far as locations? Are our expectations even realistic? Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

Edit: Thank you so much for the valuable information! It really helps me with a starting point. We were planning on at least a couple trips up to visit and now I have a much better idea as to where.
