Hydrojet drain cleaning? Should I pay the price or is there a better option?
Just curious if anyone has had hydrojet drain cleaning done to clear out a kitchen sink clog? The company I contacted wants high dollar to hydrojet the line... right about $1300 and says that they use hot water when most other companies don't. Just trying to get a feel for if what I'm getting is worth the cost? It's a 20 year old house I had built, 2" pvc lines... only one other time has this line clogged and made a horrendous mess out of the bar sink below the kitchen. I had it snaked about 3 years ago but even the guy who did it then said he wasn't sure he got it all. Lots of bends and quite a run... about 50' of line. Ugh. After the snake cleaning, I've been very careful about what goes into the garbage disposal and only minimal grease goes in the sink. This time the bar sink below backed up into the sink but we noticed it before overflow occurred. It slow drains eventually so unless you're running a lot of water above there isn't an issue. I'd like to resolve this so it doesn't keep happening every couple of years. TIA. I searched thru the drain cleaning threads but didn't see much about hydrojet in the Wichita area.
