Does anyone else feel absolutely awful on Provera?

I was prescribed Provera and instructed to take it if I don’t get a period for 2-3 months.

both times I’ve taken it I’ve been. Kind of a wreck. High irritability, higher than average anxiety, prone to tears, the works. >!it also has caused my libido to be higher than average and i am not enjoying that either!!<

I want to look into other options. I’ve previously asked gynecologists about the combo pill, as most progesterone only birth control methods just make me bleed all the time and that doesn’t feel great, but as my mother had breast cancer a lot of them seem wary to prescribe it to me. ive recently started metformin and I’ve been taking inositol for a little bit so hopefully those work, but I don’t actually think I’m insulin resistant based off my bloodwork? Normal A1C and insulin levels

I feel very stuck and frustrated.
