"how to choose a team" year 1 son asked.

primary sch sons ask me "how to choose a premier league team to support"
actually I dont know how to answer correctly, I watch football only on world cup period.

should I say follow your best friends? support what they support? his best friend replied "I support Messi!"
follow your parent's preference? but I dont have a preferred team either.
support your the team in your city? but our team is in National League not the Premier one.

I am curious that how everyone find their favourite team.

My situation is: Last week final offer accepted.

Surveyor helps to inspect the property.

At the same time I find a broker and solicitor for quotes.

2 days later, I got a better AIP than what I get from bank’s app. But surveyor send some photos and let me know there may have some problems in the roof. And tell me give 2 days for her to complete the report. At the meantime I keep finding roofer for quotation and analysis the pricing.

Finally, the report arrived with detailed explanations and also more problems . roof needs a re-roof, loft is a mess and insulation needs a catch up to nowadays standard. Many walls have 99.9 reading for the moisture including the extension and toilet. And still have numerous minor issues. It may need 25-30k to fix all the problems.

Finally, I say no to this house. And everything back to zero.

I wonder how many times I need to repeat this process before getting a house. I never know the roof and the wall situation until the surveyor checks the them.

Feel exhausted and stressed with little bit disappointed.

Can anyone share some experience on buying property? It is just a normal situation everyone will face?

My family plan to buy a property in solihull.
With Primary school kids, we aim for a good school like alderbrook or arden.
We live in DH, but seems that DH will have a higher chance to get into light hall. Although DH is so lovely, we plan to move near alderbrook catchment.

we try to find 3-4 room semi or end of terraced in 350K. from retails park to monkspath and hillfield. After a quick research, it seems like it is impossible to get a house without "roof/wall moisture/leaking" problems In this area and price range. Everytime we find a surveyor will cost us 300pounds sth. the report come back to us like need repointing or re-roof. with a extremely high reading of the moisture in the walls, we finally give up.

and for Arden catchment, as we all know the property price in Knowle, at least as high as TG.
I'm now stuck in this situation . should I give up the plan to buy a property here? Or finding another area like Kenliworth, at least the school catchment is including the whole Kenliworth. doesn't like TG or Alderbrook last entry via catchment is within 1mile.

As a parent my first priority is trying to give the best environment as I can for the future of the children. I hope they can enjoy everyday school life and having a good academic support. "outstanding" is not a must, we just want a good school. The school catchment limiting the property choice. the affordability limiting the choice. and it just like a loop.

my mind is like playing chess. there are A,B, C and D school which one will finally be the best one for them. anyone has similar situation before?
The above words may be a little bit like a self-talk.
If anyone can kindly give me some ideas or reply for me, it will be really appreciated
