I was changing out the xenon bulb on my 2001 M5 and noticed that the connector looks burnt, can i change out the cable or do i have to change the entire xenon control unit.

It's a 2002 e39 M5 driven 211k km, previous owner told me he had done the chain guides at around 200k km, it makes this noise at cold starts for about 1-2 seconds and then everything is normal
