Please Help!! Clearly a new bonsai owner here. This is my 2nd tree, but my first Nana Juniper. An early Father’s Day gift from the family. The only thing I can think of is that I over-watered it?

Tree looked perfectly grand at our Plant Nursery. We are in Western NY, Hardiness Zone 6b, and dog days of summer started early in May. I have been watering every 2-3 days, with about a 1/4 cup or so. Enough so it saturates and drips out the bottom. (Tag had said every other day during growing hot season.) You can probably tell from

pics, I did give it a small trim, no branch removal, just short clips for shape.
