I was doing a more thorough cleaning and lifted up my cats’ stainless steel litter box to clean underneath it. Somehow cat pee had gotten under the litter box and trapped between my pvc floor and the box itself. I hadn’t noticed any smell previously, but I still have no idea how long the pee had been trapped on my floor. I have never had this problem before and I will ensure that there is an extra layer between the entire litter box and floor now.

I am always paranoid about mold growth. I am currently anxious that the pee could have seeped between the floor boards and started to grow mold. Does anyone have some knowledge on the likelihood of this happening and any information recommendations on what to do to deep clean?
