I heard this dog shit song recently in passing and laughed out loud hearing the lines "I can be all the things you told me not to be, When you try to come for me, I keep on flourishing"
I feel like they don't belong in the song at all, but she can't write lyrics without relying on this "everyone is so mean and I persevere" schtick.
who is coming for her? her sexual partner? and then he worships her because she "flourishes" by being godlike in the sack?
Then there is the story she used to tell ad nauseum about how they wanted to save this song for "a rapper" and she wrote the verses and pre-choruses in the makeup chair (and like...it shows, see above) but then the scrapped Camila Cabello version leaked so...it was not meant for a rapper at all.
