I need your favorite restaurant recommendations in Oxford, Bath, and London.
Ever since I got my undergrad degree in English Lit, I’ve wanted to visit the UK, but it has just never panned out. I have been curating a UK bucket list for over 30 years. My partner and I are finally coming from the US for a two week trip full of museums and theater and football matches and literary history (mostly England this trip). However, I have absolutely no plan for eating while we’re there. Some days I’m sure we’ll grab a sandwich or stop in the closest pub, but I’d love restaurant recommendations for a few really spectacular meals. Can you give me your best recs for Oxford, Bath, and around London? (We’ll also be in Hereford and across the Wales border in Hay on Wye for a couple of days on the off chance that anyone has a favorite there).
I have a seafood allergy, but other than that we’re fairly adventurous eaters. We’d love some quintessentially British places, but we also enjoy all kinds of international cuisine. Do you have a favorite pub, favorite splurge/fancy restaurant, favorite pastry shop, favorite halal, favorite Italian place, favorite anything? Please share!
