Got an email yesterday from my Ford dealer here in the Netherlands to bring the car in for the recall. It will indeed be (just) a software update which will take about 1-2 hours. The update is available from beginning of September.

A few important things they mentioned in the email.

- After the update the warranty on the battery system is increased to 10 years/240.000km. If the software detects an issue with the batteries they will be fixed or replaced once free of charge.

- The electric range when fully charged to 100% will be reduced by around 12% depending on the battery condition. The software update will however reduce battery degradation.
