How Do You Balance Current Life Enjoyment With Your FIRE Goals
I am 37 years old in tech with a net worth of about 1.05 million mostly in index funds. I have kept a high savings rate for years but lately I find myself wanting to spend more on experiences like family trips and hobbies while still staying on track for retirement in my early 50s.
I sometimes feel guilty for any extra spending yet I also do not want to wait until retirement to start living fully. Last year I cut back on travel to boost investments but now I am rethinking that approach.
How do you balance enjoying life today with aggressive long term goals? Do you have a specific fun budget or rules that help you stay on path without feeling deprived?
