Summer time cleaning schedule
Hello everyone. I've been employed at a school as a nighttime custodian for going on 2 years now. (This will be my second summer)
I'm just curious as to how other schools schedule their custodians for summer? My boss last year made us come in from 6am - 4pm (4 10 hours days for the week) even though my normal shift is 3pm - 11pm. The boss plans on doing the same this summer.
There are 3 other custodians on this shift with me, and last year I definitely noticed a loss of moral for the first month at least because none of us were use to being up that early and it caused a lot of drag.
What's the best way about bringing this up to my boss without sounding like I'm complaining about something dumb? I just don't see a point in changing us to mornings for 3 months, just for us to have to go back to our nights as soon as summer ends. It's just a mess in my opinion.
