Missing tail!!!!!

Missing tail!!!!!

Found this stray cryptid in my neighborhood and at first I had no idea what to do because I couldn’t afford another vet work up and the partial tail amputation he needed. Thank god I ran into another member of the local stray cat care community who paid for an emergency vet visit and connected me to a rescue that took on his case. He’s now fostering with me. Any socialization tips welcome :,)

DIY subadult female enclosure: move-in day!

So I have been working on this enclosure for about a month in total. Thrifted the container, added the ventilation holes, researched every piece of decor I used. Measurements are 12”x 4” x 6” Today, Tessora finally got to move in! I love the satisfaction of watching jumping spiders curiously explore the habitats I’ve carefully created with them in mind. There is a small ‘utility door’ for feeding and misting, plus bottom of the enclosure is also removable for cleaning and handling purposes. Forgive me if I nerd out a little and post this enclosure multiple times, but also feel free to ask any questions!

My male regal, Clover, drinking my finger sweat 🤣🥹

Clover has so far been a keeper’s dream; he is very happy and confident for handling. He eats anytime he is presented prey. I officially support the claim that male p. Regius are underrated! Another piece of advice to new keepers: invest in a macro lens lol!!!

My subadult female, Tessora🩷

This is my eldest spidaughter lol. Captive bred female i9(ish) phiddipus regius. I think she is such a beautiful girl and I can’t wait to see her as an adult!! ⭐️ (she had a fat mealworm yesterday hence her FULLNESS lolll)

First handling sessions :,)

I first got into jumping spiders when I found a male zebra jumper in my apartment. Fast forward about a month, and I am a spider mom to 3 regals lol 🤌🏼. Two females and a male, all purchased at NARBC. The male (Clover, black and white) and younger female (Clementine, brown and tan/orange/yellow) were both so confident and curious! To any other new owners, patience is key :)
