My school has a bullying problem and the administration isn't doing anything.

Rant lang.

A few weeks ago, I was at school when a parent asked me in the elevator if my current school was good because she was planning to enroll her child there for Grade 11. For context, Grade 11 student din ako.

Honestly, I didn’t know how to answer. The school itself is okay naman — there are orgs for both college and SHS students, and most of the profs are nice. Pero the administration’s handling of bullying is really disappointing.

A few months ago, I got bullied by a group of fellow SHS students. When I reported it to the principal, she called me “sensitive” and literally made us hug each other. Walang proper intervention or consequences.

Later on, my mom complained to the school, and they suggested counseling through the guidance department, pero I never even got to properly meet with the guidance counselor.

By the end of November, I completely broke down in front of my mom because everything had become too heavy emotionally.

Now that it’s second sem, we started hearing stories from Grade 12 students involving the same person who was part of the group that bullied me. Apparently, this student already had a similar issue back in Grade 11 where they bullied someone else badly enough that the victim transferred schools.

What’s frustrating is that allegedly, the reason the principal never gave consequences is because she’s close to that student.

It honestly baffles me how someone with a known history of bullying was allowed to do the same thing again without accountability.

Thankfully, my adviser has been supportive and has been helping me and my friends raise complaints about these students because, honestly, marami na talagang issues involving them.

Unfortunately, until now, the administration still hasn’t done anything meaningful about it. It really makes me question how our current principal became principal in the first place.
