I am in WA state. Does the gas here suck or something? Am I doing something wrong?

Freeway trips i am averaging 35-36 mpg. I'm at almost 14k miles now.

This doesn't seem right to me. Am I doing something wrong? Am I not using the correct mode?

Please help, I feel like an idiot even asking. But, I really don't feel like i'm getting the most out of my money with this car and as much as I love it, i'm kind of disappointed.
