Hi, I don't know if this is appropriate to ask (if not, I'm sorry).

I'm going to stay in hostels in Barcelona and Madrid and I was wondering if it was generally okay to “eat sandwiches” there, either green salad or meatballs sandwiches.

I’ve already stayed in hostels in North Africa and people were pretty open-minded about sandwiches, sometimes people even shared them together.

I’m mainly asking about the atmosphere/social norms in Spanish hostels. Thank you very much for your help!
