Wanting To Know If I Need Homebrew For A Concept Or If I Just Need To Flavor Some Things.

Just want to start off saying that if anyone is familiar with the Borderlands franchise, Im asking about the best way to adapt one of the newer vault hunters, so if you have any guidance on that I would appreciate the feedback.

So there’s a character from a video game that I think would be an interesting character to play in DnD that I’ve been thinking on how to adapt into a character concept. That character is C4SH from Borderlands 4, a former casino dealer robot who was gifted the Deck of Kanansi after winning a game that gifted him with eldritch powers such as being able to throw different kinds of elemental card and throw dice that can spawn totems with different effects based on the rolls, and has a feature where as he kills enemies and preforms other acts, he gains stacks of Fortune that has an increased chance of entering a state of Windfall, where he deals increased damage and his other skills are altered to be improved for a short duration, consuming any stacks he had. All of that to say, the way I play him in Borderlands is kinda similar to Gambit.

I’m looking for advice on if there’s a good way to just reflavor the cards as different spells and the dice as summoning familiars or if anyone has homebrewed anything similar. Right now, the game I’m with is around lvl 8, so ideally I need an idea I can work with my DM with that scales around there with light homebrew. Also, Borderlands is a shooter, but I’d rather not try to implement guns with this character as the closest we’ve come is pirates using flintlock pistols.

Any help/guidance is appreciated and if anyone knows of a better place to post this if this doesn’t belong here, please let me know. Thanks in advance!
