SOMERVILLE — A person was assaulted with an “edged weapon” in Davis Square on Thursday morning and police closed off a stretch of Holland Street to gather evidence of the attack, authorities said.

The victim is being treated at a local hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening, police said in a statement.

“The Somerville Police are actively investigating an assault with an edged weapon that occurred this morning,” police spokesperson Grace Munns said by email.

No one has been arrested in the case, police said.
