Cycling Into Mexico Saves Time and Money
At some border crossings the pedestrian / bicycle crossing takes ten minutes while motor vehicles take 2 hours. CBP has an app that updates these times in real time.
Idling in line is an enormous waste of fuel. On flat land it's slow enough to push your vehicle.
Just park the car on the U. S. side and you can easily save over 1 hour time even if your commute is 10 miles.
You also save $23 in Mexican insurance.
Just be aware some border towns like Mexicali have 14" high curbs and homicidal drivers while some are as safe or safer than any place in the U. S.
