My neighborhood recently got fiber available due to Cox cable internet monopoly here on the west side of PHX. The company, WyYerd, is doing free installations for those who decide to switch over. Im really thinking about it since it would be 300 Mbps down & up as opposed to my 150 down & 50 up with Cox. It would also be $30 cheaper a month.

I have my own, not renting from ISP, cable modem and seperate wifi router and switch for all my hardwired components, TV's - home security - cameras.

If I go with fiber. I know I would need an ONT. But, would I connect that ONT to a modem or straight into my switch? Or does that ONT do all the traffic handling?
