Woodpeckers

Hello, I was wondering if anyone might have any information to share with me. 2 days in row on 2 separate trails miles away from each other. My wife, dog, I saw 2 different woodpeckers. The first was a Pileated Woodpecker and the 2nd was a Hairy Woodpecker.

My wife has a bird call app on her phone or else I wouldn't have know.

Both times I was leading the hike and was about 5ft from the bird, unknowing either was there. When they just up from the ground, and flew to a nearby tree.

Both very cool and surprising experiences.

I was wondering if this meant anything. I understand woodpeckers can be an omni of knocking on door opportunity.
