Does anyone know if not doing a dissertation changes the Social Anthropology BA with Hons to just a BA?

Hi guys, I opted out of doing a dissertation when we were applying for third year modules a few months back, as it was explained to me that opting out of a dissertation would NOT affect my degree’s honours.

Apparently this was not the case, but I only have informal confirmation of that from friends that were also misinformed, or simply not told at all, and SOAS and the website are as unhelpful as always.

If not doing a dissertation for Social Anthropology BA results in no honours, can someone explain how I reapply for a dissertation instead?

Many thanks.

please watch where you’re walking!

why is it that every other person is turning into a heat-seeking missile in london? recently, whilst i have been walking along in a straight line on the pavement, i have been collided with and rammed into 7 times, on 5 different occasions by different people in different areas and zones of london.

half of you are asking for your phones to be nicked, and the other half simply aren’t looking at one and still seem to not be paying attention!! i would perhaps understand if i were a more petite woman, but i’m 6’0 - i get started at enough every day to know that i’m not simply flying under the radar. this seems to be such a recent phenomenon but appears to be on the rise alongside the lack of tube etiquette! please, watch where you’re going!!!

tips for staying cool on shift?

hi guys! i (21 f) recently started to work at a new cafe based in london, and it’s going to be 35°C on my next shift (wednesday). unlike my previous stores, there is very limited air con, but due to the amount of people behind bar and the heat of the grills and machines it will be closer to 45°C inside (even if you’re standing still). this will be my sixth year as a barista, so i am used to unavoidable problems, such as heat, but i want my shift to be more bearable!

i am on my period this week (fantastic timing, i know) and cannot deal with heat (25°C+) very well usually so i am terrified of this upcoming shift. i have been trying to get it covered, but on the off chance i cannot, do you have any tips and tricks for staying cool and safe?

unhinged tips welcomed too!! i really want to try a bodice chiller, for instance..
