Garmin Epix button repair – Garmin refused repair, but I finally found a solution
Hey everyone,
I wanted to share my experience in case anyone else runs into the same issue.
One of the buttons on my Garmin Epix stopped working properly. At first I thought it would be an easy fix, but I quickly realized that finding replacement parts or someone who actually repairs these watches is almost impossible.
I contacted Garmin support in Germany and also Garmin support in the US. I even went to a Garmin store in Miami in person, but the repair was still refused. The only option Garmin gave me was a 20% discount on a new watch, which honestly did not feel great considering a new Epix/Fenix model costs well over €1,000.
After searching for a while, I eventually found garmin-repair.com. From what I understood, they have access to or produce special replacement parts for the internal button assembly that you normally cannot buy anywhere. I sent the watch in, they repaired the broken button, and now everything works perfectly again.
Honestly, I was pretty frustrated that Garmin itself does not offer a proper repair option for such an expensive device, especially when the watch is otherwise still perfectly fine.
Just wanted to post this here in case anyone else has a dead/stuck/non-working button on a Garmin Epix, Fenix or similar model and thinks the only option is buying a new watch. There actually seems to be a repair option.
Has anyone else had similar experiences with Garmin refusing button repairs?
