Dingle way itinerary advice
Hi all, my wife and I are both in relatively good shape for hiking, but we only have about 3 days to hike and we want to hike for about 3-4 hours a day (max 11km a day) along the Dingle Way.
We are planning to arrive in the area on July 3rd in time just for a pub dinner (train from Dublin to Tralee then will arrange a transfer from Tralee to starting point), and to start hiking July 4th. We will hike all day July 4th, 5th, and 6th and then head back to Dublin on the 7th.
Based on my research so far the stretch from Inch Beach to Dunquin looks very appealing as we are interested in maximizing beautiful cliff views, stopping in interesting villages, and any non-nature points of interest along the way (Minard Castle ex). Since the route from Inch Beach to Dunquin will be too much for us to cover with the amount of hiking we‘re willing to do
I’m looking for advice on what are the most “missable” sections of this chunk of the trail from a hiking perspective?
For example I read a review that from Camp to Inch Beach doesn’t have much of interest (as per the things we want to see) so we are skipping that section.Based on my research so far I’m thinking to actually start the hike in lios poil even though Inch beach looks very cool, we will just check out the beach for lunch and then start the hike from lios poil and do the following as it seems like the route from inch beach to lios poil mostly follows the main road so we can see it from the drive.
July 4 Day 1: Lios Poil to Dingle
July 5 Day 2: dingle to ventry
July 6 Day 3: ventry to Dunquin
Looking for feedback on if this plan is feasible and matches what we’re hoping to get out of the trip!
Tl;dr- I’m looking for advice on what are the most “missable” sections of the Inch Beach-Dunquin part of the Dingle Way trail from a perspective of good views/interesting non-nature spots/nice pubs.
