Updating the Gaming/Video Editing rig for 2026
I've been using the same "frankestein" computer I've put different parts into for years but I think the time has come for me to start fresh. I'm looking to spend $2000-2500 on a desktop (I'm open to both pre-built and building myself). I have no idea where PC parts are at right now (other than RAM being expensive lol)
Use case:
Windows Operating system is a must. I'm in the USA.
1TB SSD minimum for the C drive to boot Windows from, but I have other hard drives for general storage.
I do video editing for work (mostly in HD, but occasional 4K as well), so it needs to be competent with that, but I am also an avid gamer so I'm looking for a dual purpose machine for the home office. I'd say I do more gaming on my PC than editing, but it needs to do both comfortably.
I already have the keyboard, mouse, headphones, desk and 2 monitors. I do also have a spare 750 or 800 watt power supply that was never really used. I have no brand loyalty really and a white case would be cool, but not necessary. If I forgot anything else, my apologies!
