Built a website for UofT students to visualize courses, prerequisites, and degree planning

Built a website for UofT students to visualize courses, prerequisites, and degree planning — UofT Plan-net 🚀

The idea started because I got tired of jumping between the Academic Calendar, Degree Explorer, random PDFs, and prerequisite chains that are honestly painful to follow.

MeetUofT Plan-net. It turns our scattered course data into interactive graphs and visual maps.

Here is what you can do with it right now:

  • 🌌 Course Universe: A literal WebGL galaxy of every single UTSG course. It’s pretty fun to just zoom around and explore.
  • 🔀 Course Explorer: Visual prerequisite and corequisite trees (DAGs). You can instantly see how courses connect without reading through blocks of text.
  • 📋 Program Explorer: Cleanly structured A&S program requirements.
  • 🗓️ Drag-and-Drop Planner: Build your semesters visually. It has built-in validation, so it will actually warn you if you're messing up a prerequisite chain. (Still some bugs...)

🚀 What I'm working on next (Coming Soon):

  • 🔗 Shareable Planners: You'll be able to generate a unique link for your schedule.
  • 🦅 Data-Driven "Bird Course" Analytics: Once enough schedules are created, the system will analyze the anonymized planner data to statistically uncover the ultimate "bird courses."

Also, the course data is currently scraped from the Academic Calendar/Timetable Builder, so always double-check with the official registrar for any mid-year curveballs!

I'd love to hear your feedback, bug reports, or feature requests. Let me know what you think!
