This question is for those of you with longer-running tanks with leaf litter and benthic detritivores (amphipods, isopods, etc), where you are periodically replenishing the leaf litter.

In the long term, do you have a net accumulation of fine particulate organic matter (FPOM)? Are you routinely needing to siphon some of it out / is a lot of it being exported by mechanical filtration? Or are your tanks eventually reaching some kind of steady state where FPOM is mineralized to CO2 as fast as your shredders can poop it out?
