Hello all!
I am a current Colorado RN working in a float pool role where I go to 3 separate hospitals in a variety of critical care floors (SICU,MICU,CICU, and their step downs)

I love my job but I want to step away from bedside while also becoming a provider. I still want to use the knowledge I have accumulated over the years in the ICU in my NP career. I feel work in an outpatient clinic with a specialty like cardiology would be a great fit for what I desire.

My question is for my NP program should I peruse an FNP or AGACNP? There is also opportunity for DNP as well if that makes any difference.

I’d love to hear your thoughts and if any current Colorado NP’s are here please share what you do and how you got there.

Hello everyone!

Current RN that has worked ICU for 3 years now and worked as a paramedic for 7 years as well. While I love the hospital setting I feel like as an NP it will not be my favorite.

I am looking to advance my career because I genuinely want to be a provider rather than the order executioner. I wouldn’t be opposed to working in specialty clinics or even an interventional service like cath lab. However, I have always had an interest in what the PT and OT did for my patients in the ICU and they seemed to love their careers.

My question is do Nurse practitioners have a place within the physical medicine space? Can an FNP fit into this role or would acute care be a better fit?

Buying a home that is currently rock landscaping. Will soon have a child and currently have a dog and would love a nice yard that is comfortable to play in. It would be a north facing lawn. Some google searches say buffalo grass with clover is a good start. Any other plants to add or tips are appreciated. Thank you!
