Teen son wants to smoke with me for his birthday.
My son who lives across the country is visiting for the week of his 16th birthday. He knows I partake and I know that he does socially with his friends. Him and his friends get people to buy them disposable carts sometimes but as I’m aware it’s not a regular thing. The relationship between us is solid, we game together several nights a week, he talks to me about his girl problems, he shares all of the stories with me that I would absolutely not have told my parents. Here’s the problem, all he wants for his birthday is to have a stoner sesh with me. He wants to smoke with me and order food and just chill. The “cool” dad in me wants to say yes but I also know that smoking that young can be harmful and is obviously not something that should be happening, but he’s already doing it on his own so part of me would rather him do it in my house than have him try to find some black market cart.
Just curious what the general thoughts of r/trees is
Edit: when I first found out he was smoking I did tell him that his brain is still developing and that smoking this young could be harmful and that I would rather he waited until he was older like I was. He’s a good kid, he’s passing all of his classes, he takes care of his siblings while his mom works and is more of a parent to them than their stepdad is from what I’ve been told.
