In my opinion this is the best course of action. Let small fish be killable for immersion, and give us a more and long term non lethal solution to making the predators piss off.

I for one can understand why they don't want us to kill leviathans, but not being able to kill even the small prey fish i think is a step too far and hurts the reactivity of the world.
Edit: some people are thinking that you can't eat fish anymore, that's false they're still very much edible. It's just that even the tiny fish are immune to all forms of damage by your axe or vehicle. You just awkwardly bounce off when you hit a fish with the submarine.
Edit 2:this wasn't meant to be a discussion on developer conduct, this screenshot was used as a dev confirmation on the exclusion of the killing mechanism. Other than that one off handed remark, the devs have been very respectful in engaging with the community.
I heard people are giving them trouble in the discord for that message, so please control yourself guys.
Also, while this was kind of an annoying change, i still had a lot of fun with the overall early access and this should not be a reason to boycott the entire game like some people are suggesting.
