Student taught 6th grade, but landed in a 12th grade classroom for my first year. Tips on setting expectations/procedures?

I am very used to 6th graders. I consider myself pretty goofy. Procedures with them felt easy, although repetitive and very centered on classroom management.

What are some things I can do to make my 6th grade style more senior-centric. TIA

First year teacher at a Catholic school… but I’m not Catholic. Any tips?

I already am feeling nervous about being a first year teacher. I was hoping to land in a middle school but there are very few positions available and I was just offered a position at a Catholic high school. The only thing is, I’m worried I might say something wrong since I am not Catholic.

I was raised a non denominational Christian and my student teaching experiences were both in public schools.

Any advice for helping me make sure I can start strong? I just want to do a good job. ANY advice for first year teaching is welcomed too.

Too late to grow asparagus?

I live in Michigan and I was hoping to plant an asparagus patch this year but hadn’t gotten around to it. Is it too late? Any advice?
