Northern Ireland - Employer has dissolved my job role to make me move to another department that I’ve expressed I am not interested in. They have since advertised for the job role they’ve dissolved but with a different title but same job spec. What are my rights?
I have worked for the company for just over one year now, starting in March 2025, title explains it all.
Was pulled into a meeting last week telling me my role was dissolved and that I had to be moved to another department and had outlined to me what that was. Had made clear my disappointment and reluctance to take this job and was essentially told I have no choice. Later the next day a job role went up with the exact spec I was already doing but at a higher pay and different title.
What rights do I have here because I have lost all trust in my employer and no longer wish to continue employment if I am forced into the new role.
