Thinking about remodeling tiny galley kitchen and looking for inspiration of good use of space if anyone has done a similar reno

New here and I’ve been lurking a bit.

I’m trying to decide how to renovate my tiny galley style kitchen (spaces on one wall only): width 5.25 feet x 12 feet x approx 85 inches tall. I have a 24” dishwasher that’s pretty new, fridge, sink and stove. There is a window in the corner where the sink is currently located. I would prefer not to move the plumbing if I can avoid it.

I would be very interested in hearing about your experience if you have a similar situation and any things you wish you had known before you started out choices you made that you would change.

thanks!

Beginner in tiny apartment thinking about starting to mill grain at home. Looking for others in similar situation

Hello! I discovered freshly milled grain last year at a local store and love the complex flavor profile! I have been thinking about getting a home mill but I live in a tiny apartment (kitchen is also super tiny, less than 3 feet of counter top) and don’t have any plans to move anytime soon for many reasons.

I’m interested in hearing anything you wished you knew before home milling and your experiences that might be helpful for me making a decision about whether I could do this comfortably at home. I have read about people who have home mills having multiple types of grain and buying in bulk to make it economical.

I bake about every week on average and more during holidays and birthdays. Recently, I’ve been making a lot of whole grain pancakes.

thanks!!

edit: countertop is close to 2.5 feet or a little less.

Canada Mayflower and spicebush! (Waiting to get another spicebush until I know what sex this one is)

Planted them both pretty late last fall so feeling very relieved they survived and are now growing!

I am trying to figure out the best way to start conversations in my neighborhood about invasive plants. I have been noticing seeds and small plants appear over the year despite my best weeding efforts, which is becoming more noticeable as I continue developing the garden to native plants.

Since the plants in your neighbor’s yard affect your gardens (even far away neighbors thanks to birds and critters!), I would like to ask:

  1. Have you had a conversation with a neighbor about the negative impacts of invasive plants?
  2. How did it go?
  3. What was the impact?

Thanks for sharing!

Update: I can’t change the post title but I’m heading a strong trend to approach with positive aspects of incorporating native plants. Thanks for sharing your experience and considerations!
