Can we trust Principals in the ME?

I was looking at roles in the Middle East and since I have a family my risk tolerance is lower. When I look into what the current situation is like on the ground in the Middle East, I see posts from Principals, teachers, recruiters all saying how lovely the government is, how everything is under control, it's their home etc but then I come across the fact that if you say anything negative about the country, you could be jailed so all these posts have no incentive to actually highlight anything which may make me regret a move there.

So where are you getting your 100% unbiased unfiltered news about the situation on the ground?
