My Corgi Puff got to Tackle the OneWorld Canine Obstacle Course

I love showing up to dog sporting events with my corgi and proving that corgis are actually working dogs and can do anything asked of them. Puff and I recently tackled the OneWorld Canine Obstacle Run, a 4.5-mile-long course with over 80 obstacles designed to challenge even the most elite canine and handler teams. It consists of leaping into deep pools, crawling through tunnels, climbing 4+ foot walls, crawling through culverts, and running almost a mile through a creek where the water can get up to chest deep in some places.

Once you get through that, there are cars and buses to climb over, mud pits you have to crawl through, and hanging tires you have to squeeze through. Then, to top it all off, once you’ve run through 4 miles of obstacles, there is the very aptly named Heartbreak Hill, where you have to climb almost a tenth of a mile straight up on VERY tired legs. Once you’ve killed your legs climbing up and climbing down, the course doubled back this year, so you had to turn around and climb it again.

Then, when you feel like your legs can barely hold your own body weight, you have to pick up your dog and walk across a VERY narrow log over a deep pool of water. All in all, Puff and I finished this monster of a course in an hour and a half, and I couldn’t be prouder of him. Puff and I are just out here proving corgis are working dogs, one obstacle course at a time! 💪
