The scaly-breasted munia is an invasive songbird established in Mobile and Baldwin Counties that can quickly outcompete native birds for food and nesting sites. These highly social birds travel in large flocks, empty bird feeders, and use invasive plants like cogongrass for nesting, which can further spread those weeds. Help monitor this invasive species by reporting sightings on EDDMapS, iNaturalist, or eBird!
